The only real issue I have is I would like to see a little bigger cup on them as after a few hours of use they start to hurt my ears a little and I would say I have average size ears so if you have some big Dumbo ears or wear large ear rings you might want to try a set on first. Like anything it's as good as you care for it. The construction of them is of good quality for a folding type of headphone. The built in mic on the jack cord is great for them interrupting phone calls and the right ear has a built in mute button for them times you want to hear someone or thing with out taking them off or turning down the volume. But the batteries serve a purpose and with out them they could not deliver th e awesome base response that I have found only Dr.
Yes they require 2 AAA batteries to function and that could cause a problem for some if the batteries go dead say on a long plane flight, as were most of the others don't require batteries. Dre studio's are the cats meow when it comes to heavy base type music, like rap, techno, dance, ect. I am a headphone fanatic, owning everything from Bose QC's to Sennheiser HD's and many others in between, and there's a style of music or sound that is best for each of them. People around you will hear your music and they should as again these are an open ear headphone. Let me start by saying that these are an "OPEN EAR" headphone and if your not sure what that means you should go do your homework. Great Base! These get the job done at all volume levels.
